Northeastern University Law Prof. Michael Meltsner has had an extraordinarily distinguished career advocating for the disadvantaged, from working with Thurgood Marshall at the NAACP Legal Defense Fund in the 1960s, to founding the first poverty law clinic at Columbia Law School. His clients have ranged from Muhammad Ali to individuals on death row, to groups battling apartheid in South Africa. To read more about his impressive experiences, read here and here.

Prof. Meltsner will be the speaker at this year’s Dean Alfange Jr. Lecture in American Constitutionalism, sponsored by the Department of Political Science. This lecture series was inaugurated by the students of our colleague and professor, Dean Alfange, Jr., in honor of his teaching and mentoring.
